These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GoHalalWise application and website (collectively, the "Services") operated by GoHalalWise LLC ("GoHalalWise," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GoHalalWise, you represent that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- You have read, understood and agree to these Terms
- If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Services. Continued use of GoHalalWise after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Description of Services
GoHalalWise provides a suite of Islamic lifestyle tools and services, including:
- Halal Scanner: An ingredient analysis tool that evaluates product labels and ingredient lists to provide Halal, Haram or Doubtful verdicts
- Prayer Times: Accurate daily prayer time calculations based on user-selected location
- Qibla Finder: A compass tool indicating the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca
- Verses of the Day: Daily Quranic recitations with translations in multiple languages
- Halal Shop: A curated directory linking to halal products from partner retailers
- Scan History: A personal log of your previous scans and verdicts
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of our Services at any time with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
User Accounts
Account Registration
To access the full features of GoHalalWise, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately at support@gohalalwise.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
- We reserve the right to disable any account at our discretion
Account Termination by User
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@gohalalwise.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to retain.
Credits & Payments
Free Credits
New users receive 5 free scan credits upon account registration. These credits allow you to use the Halal Scanner feature at no cost.
Credit Packages
Additional credits can be purchased through the app. Current pricing is as follows:

Credit Usage
- One credit is deducted for each successful halal scan
- Credits are non-transferable and linked to your account only
- Credits do not expire as long as your account remains active
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money
Refund Policy
All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the following circumstances:
- A technical error on our platform caused incorrect credit deduction
- A duplicate charge was made for the same transaction
- Payment was processed but credits were not added to your account
To request a refund for any of the above reasons, contact us at support@gohalalwise.com within 14 days of the transaction with your order details.
We do not offer refunds for unused credits or change-of-mind purchases. Please review the credit packages carefully before purchasing.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use GoHalalWise only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Services to violate any applicable local, national or international law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Upload malicious code, viruses or any software designed to disrupt or damage our Services
- Use automated tools, bots or scripts to access our Services without written permission
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy or resell any part of our Services without authorization
- Use the Services to harass, abuse or harm any other person
- Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of our platform
- Use the Services for any commercial purpose other than as expressly permitted
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access restrictions or security measures
Violation of these acceptable use terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
Disclaimer & Limitations
Halal Scan Results
The halal verdicts provided by GoHalalWise are for informational and guidance purposes only. Our scan results are based on generally accepted Islamic dietary guidelines and publicly available information about ingredients.
GoHalalWise verdicts do NOT constitute a formal Islamic ruling (fatwa) or official halal certification. For definitive Islamic guidance on specific food products or ingredients, please consult a qualified Islamic scholar or a recognized halal certification authority.
Accuracy of Information
- We strive to provide accurate ingredient analysis but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy at all times
- Ingredient formulations change frequently — always verify with the manufacturer for the most current information
- Prayer times are calculated using established astronomical formulas and may vary slightly by location
- Qibla direction is calculated mathematically and may have minor variations
Service Availability
GoHalalWise is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that our Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to perform maintenance at any time.
Intellectual Property
Our Content
All content on GoHalalWise, including but not limited to the logo, design, text, graphics, user interface, code and features, is owned by GoHalalWise LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, copy, reproduce or distribute our content without written permission.
Your Content
When you submit product images or ingredient lists to GoHalalWise for scanning, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the scan result to you. We do not claim ownership of your submitted content.
Quran Content
The Quranic verses and translations displayed in our app are sourced from publicly available Islamic resources. We present this content with the utmost respect for Islamic tradition. If you believe any content has been presented inappropriately, please contact us immediately.
Privacy
Your use of GoHalalWise is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Third-Party Services
GoHalalWise integrates with and links to third-party services and websites. These include but are not limited to:
- Payment Processing: Secure third-party payment services for credit purchases
- Email Services: Third-party email delivery services for account communications
- Shop Links: Links to EssenceMasters and Amazon for halal product purchases
- Quran Audio: Third-party APIs for Quranic recitation audio content
These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies. GoHalalWise is not responsible for the content, practices or policies of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.
When you click links to shop on Amazon or EssenceMasters, you leave GoHalalWise and are subject to those platforms' terms and policies. GoHalalWise may earn affiliate commissions from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.
Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@gohalalwise.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Unused credits will be forfeited upon account termination.
Termination by GoHalalWise
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Engaging in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse of our Services or other users
- Non-payment or chargebacks
- If required by law
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GoHalalWise LLC and its officers, directors, employees and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill
- Any damages resulting from reliance on halal scan results for purchasing decisions
- Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
- Any damages resulting from service interruptions or technical issues
- Any religious, health or dietary consequences arising from use of our Services
Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to GoHalalWise in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You acknowledge that GoHalalWise is a guidance tool and that all food and dietary decisions are ultimately your own responsibility. We strongly recommend consulting qualified scholars for religious dietary guidance.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Send an email notification to registered users for significant changes
- Display a notice within the app
Your continued use of GoHalalWise after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using our Services and may delete your account.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
